Hi All

I have installation issue for the mentioned printer software which can not be  installed even the printer has builtin smart install and working before but that is also not working dont know why? the drivers are installs automatically upon USB connects.but software installer is only un installing the prior installed files and could not start the new installation

i delete everythins related to the product even removed from startup and launched installation but same.

i think there is problem with HP installer because i am launching installer and it beginning uninstaller and showing

( The Prior product installation failed to comlete the partially installed files must be uninstalled before you re run the product installation) even if nothing of HP files are remaining in the system please find a helpful solution if available.

i have downloaded a full software & driver solution which is making the same problem (can not installs the full solution at once)  but there is option to install all the software by there own installer. which is littlebit long procedure but working

also tried scrubber.exe which cleans everythings but the issue is still persist

Thanks

@baghban,

Welcome to HP Support Community,

Let's start off by running Windows update troubleshooter:

Download and install the troubleshooter from this link.

Now try to perform Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Now run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

If you are facing any issue while using the printer then try using HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR). PSDR is an automated tool which can diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. Please go to this link: HP Printers - Using HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows)  to download and run HP PSDR. Once you open the program, select your printer and click on “Fix Printing” to automatically diagnose and fix the issue.

I suggest you uninstall the printer drivers from the root level and then reinstall them by following the below steps:

  • Press “Windows key” + “r” to get the “Run” window.
  • Type "services.msc" to get Services – Go to “Print spooler” – Right-click and “Stop” the service.
  • Now again open "Run" - Type “spool” and OK - Go to PRINTERS folder - delete everything in that folder.
  • Go to services again - Start the print spooler.
  • Now check for issue resolution.
  • If the issue persists, also try clean installing the printer drivers. Here are the steps:
  • First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP LaserJet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Please click here to download and install the software.
  • Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Let me know how it goes!

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

As per your advise i restored my pc to its original status. now i am getting updates and smart install is also working.

and tried all the possible way as you suggested removal of everythings related to the printer but still not installing the full software even the printer smart install which a bit older version but that is also going throug the same process as new version.

asking to remove USB cable to uninstall the prior installation and there is nothing to be removed, then reboot and nothing starts after reboot.

Hoping for a best solution to the issue

@baghban,

As you have tried the steps suggested and unfortunately nothing has helped to resolve this issue.

In this scenario, I would personally suggest you contact our HP support team so that they can remotely take control of your PC and help you check the settings.

I'm sure they should be able to go ahead and address your issue.

Keep me posted on how it goes for further assistance

Take care now and do have a fabulous week ahead. 🙂
