laserJet CP1525nw
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My HP CP1525mv printer will print one sheet without a paper jam alert.

If I try to print more than one sheet at a time the second sheet will cause a jam alert.

The second sheet will not feed; it is still in paper tray (little out of tray).

How do I get the second sheet to print? Is there an adjustment or alignment needed?

Most times the issue is the pickup roller is worn. Remove the paper cassette and shine a flashiight towards the rear and in the center is a black pickup roller. If it appears smooth with lines on the outer edges it needs to be replaced.  You could try to clean the roller with warm soapy water and dry but odds are the roller needs to be replaced. I do not understand why the printer always prints the first sheet? If it is the roller one would think it would not print the first sheet? If I wait until the first sheet prints then send a second print command that sheet will always print. It appears that the second sheet is feed to early.

Hi @Sdancer,

Have you tried to print more than one pages from another tray to see what happens?

If the problem is the same from other trays as well, then it might be a power supply issue.

If not, try replacing the problematic tray.

Keep me updated,

Cheers!

There are 3 items involved during paper pickup that can have an effect. The first and most important is the pickup roller. It does not matter that it always picks up the first sheet as I have seen many that do that and always jam on the second sheet and replacing the roller most times solves the issue. The other item which you may want to replace at the same time is the separation roller which prevents more than one sheet of paper being picked up at the same time. The third item which would be very rare on your printer is the solenoid which controls the stopping and starting of the pickup roller. I would really start by replacing the two rollers. Do not try to over think the situation. This printer is now about 7-8 years old and just as with a car things need replacing over time.
