The printer does recognize the correct paper size and i set each of the 2 trays to the right size, still jams. This printer was brand new and hasn't worked since we got it. It started with the jams as soon as we had it added to our network. I have also tried to update the firmware and that didn't help.

Well if this is the case, if I were you I would return the printer from where I bought it. It has a warranty and should be replaced as a DOA (Dead On Arrival). It may be defective by factory or damaged during transportation.
