Hi.

First post here...

I recently received this printer and I think it must have been bashed or dropped: when I unpacked it, one of the support arms on the front panel had slipped its moorings (which would have taken some force to do), and I had to reinsert it before the printer would work at all. Even now the front panel doesn't close properly, and after opening the front, I have to push hard on the top left corner to get it to shut so that the printer will actually work.

The clunk/bang mentioned in the title of the post is coming from the area of the toner drawer, which seems to be clouted by something prior to printing --- there's toner all over the belt beneath it. The toner drawer itself doesn't sit quite straight and doesn't lock into place on the left: the left edge hangs forward slightly.

Since something keeps walloping the inside of the printer (and probably the toner tray itself), the print quality is predictably atrocious.

Also, printing a cleaning page never actually completes: it always results in a paper jam and the page has to be pulled out manually.

I've uploaded a short video showing the problems here:     https://sendvid.com/i26d6fdy

I'm afraid the sound's bad, so the clunk/bang is indistinct (in reality it's very loud), and the subtitles are obscured a bit by the player's controls.

If anyone has any ideas what is likely to be causing this clunk/bang, I'd be grateful to hear them.  🙂

You will need to get (or borrow) another set of toners, that bad print quality is caused by badly remanufactured toners. Also, there is a chance that the toners are causing weird noise coming out from the printer.

I knew someone would say that!  But it's definitely not the toners!

The printer was working perfectly with these toners before it was moved --- and evidently dropped in transit.

There is a mechanical problem.  If anyone has any idea what could have come loose and be causing that bang, please let me know!
