My HP 6830 was working fine with a USB connection. The printer suddenly did not print. I updated the software, firmware and drivers without success. I uninstalled the software and re-installed without success. I disconnected my router, printer and modem and redid all the steps all over again. I treid connecting with the wireless connection. I tried changing the the USB port on my Netgear router. I reverified the IP address for both the USB and wireless connection from the printed Network Configuration page; that printed so the printer does function but not the network connection. Nothing seemed to work. When I ran HP Print and Scan Doctor it kept telling me the software was not installed. Uninstalled and ran Glary Utilities and ccCleaner and defraged the registry. Re-installed and troubleshooted again from the beginning. Was compeltely unsuccessful.
I then retried the entire process all over again with a HP Officejet 8610 printer. Same process. Same results.
Suggestions, please..

I took one last opportunity to add a couple of small steps to the process and was successful. You are more of an expert than I but I am providing a detailed list of the steps taken in case another individual is ever faced with the same problem. My educated guess is that there was some UNKNOWN entry in my registry that did not permit a successful installation. Manually deleting the printer entries yielded success but this was not for the faint of heart. If anyone is trying this, remember to backup up your registry first.

Hello, @paulie05 – Hope you are well 🙂
Thanks for your continued participation in the HP Forums!
I see that you are facing issues while printing with the Officejet printer. Are you getting any error message on the printer control panel?
Also, to assist you with this issue, I need to know whether the printer can make a "Photocopy" or not.
Place a document face down on the scanner glass and press the copy option on the printer control panel. Let me know if it makes a good copy or not.
If the copy is coming out well, then the issue is with the print settings or drivers on your PC. Try a clean install as suggested below:
- First, unplug the USB cable from the printer, if present.
- Go to Control Panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Officejet printer entries and uninstall them.
- Now go to Control Panel – Devices and Printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
- Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
- Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
- Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
- Restart your computer.
- Now, click http://hp.care/2o7nqnV to download and install the software.
- Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
- Restart the PC and check.
Let me know if that helps!
Good luck 🙂

These results are applicable for both my 6810 and 8630 HP printers
1. There are no messages on the printer control panel
2. I can copy a document and the printer can print a Configuration Report.
3. Unpluged the USB cable from the printer
4. Uninstalled all printer devices.
5. Ran Glary Utilities to clean registry
6. Ran "printui.exe /s"
6. Removed all( drivers except I could not remove prnms.003.ing MS Enhanced Print & Print Compability
7. Ran “c:/programdata”
8. Removed all HP printer related folders & files.
9. Restarted computer.
10. Clicked http://hp.care/2o7nqnV and downloaded and installed the software.
11. On installing Network Printer, the application could not connect to printer
12. Ran HP Print & Scan Doctor
13. Found printer connection but product not installed
14. Reinstalled software again
15. Unsuccessful installation
16. Tried the aforementioned for Wireless, Ethernet and USB connection direct to laptop
17. Results all the same.
18. Print attempts appear to send file to the print queue. The print job then disappears without any printing.
Laptop is an HP Omen 9000
Issue appears to be software related and not the printer.
Are there registry entries that could have been modified?
Could there be conflicting drivers or other software applications? Canon MF8200C, ScanSoft PDF Create! Send to OneNote 2016
Is there an HP Level 3 Help Desh that I could discuss with?
Thank you

Hello, @paulie05
Try to open the applications in "Administrator" mode and check. Right-click on the file and choose run as administrator to open as administrator.
Do not try to open a particular file, Instead, open the MS Word / MS Excel application as administrator. Right-click on the MS Word application and choose to run as administrator. Let me know if that works.
If that works, then the issue is with the printer permissions. Try the steps below to fix the same:
Press the "Windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type %temp% and press ok.
Note what the full path is (in my case, it was "C:\Users\*****\AppData\Local\Temp")
Go up one level in the directory tree
Right-click on the temp directory (in my case, "C:\Users\*****\AppData\Local"), and select "Properties"
Go to the Security tab, and select "Users" from the group or usernames.
Click "Edit"
Select Users, then check the box by "Full Control"
Click "Apply"
You may get a whole bunch of error messages about inheritance, just hold down the Enter key until they all go away.
Click "Cancel" a couple of times to dismiss the properties boxes
Go forth and print from any application and check.
Thanks, I'll watch for your reply!
Cheers 🙂
