I am trying to disable Printer Status Notifications on my printers, but the options is not listed in Device Settings.

I am using UPD 6.8 & 6.9 on a Windows Server 2019.

What am I missing?

Thanks!

Thanks for clarifying.

This notification arrives from the OS, not from the HP driver, and prompts to use the HP Smart app

From the Start menu click the Settings (gear icon) and select System, then select Notifications & Settings.

Scroll down and turn off notifications for HP Smart, then it should no longer be shown.

Hi,

What exact notification or message is shown? could you include a screenshot of the message?

Status Notification Pop-ups are no longer available on UPD 6.5.0 or later versions, as listed on page 174:

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03633736

Spoiler
NOTE: Status Notification Pop-ups (SNP) are no longer available starting with the release of UPD 6.5.0. On HP UPD v4.7 through UPD v6.4.1, SNP can be enabled or disabled from the Device Settings tab of the driver. Before HP UPD v4.7, SNP could only be disabled from the SNP dialog box.

The pop-up message the user I have been working says "Launch App." She indicated this only appears when printing.TNielsen1701_0-1583779951472.png

I was going to advise her to turn off Printer notifications in Windows 10, but I was wondering if there was a way to set this through the driver or MS GPO settings.

After posting the initial message, I did find the release notes that stated that the Status Notifications were deprecated in v6.5 of UPD.
