trying to print and the printer only prints part of a document and only 1/2 of the letters.  I printed a print quality diagnostic and it printed the 3/4 of the page and then quits printing.  Did the alighnment as well and it hasn't helped.  When I print from my computer it again doesn't print all of the document.  it skips lines and doesn't print the complete letters.  we put in new ink catridges and this didnot help.

Hi @jam20

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand the printer is not printing the complete document. I'd be happy to assist you. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your computer.

Check the estimated ink levels. Replace any low or empty ink cartridges.

Clean the printhead

  1. From the control panel home screen, touch the Settings icon , and then touch Tools.

  2. Touch the Down Arrow , and then touch Clean Printhead. The printer cleans the printheads, and then prints a test page.

If the print quality on the test page is unsatisfactory, perform a secondary cleaning of the printhead.

If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes after the last cleaning stage to start the first stage of the cleaning process over again.

Try printing or making a copy on the printer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
