Hello there.

At out school we have a printer from where the teachers print out their plans of the day. The printer is probably print around a 50-80 pages daily. The problem is that it also keeps printing some sort of info/sales page from HP randomly throughout the day. Up to several times. That quickly adds up to 10 or more pages a day spent on nothing.

I have tried looking in the software if there should be some sort of check box which explains this behaivor but nothing.. I have also uninstalled the printing software in hopes of solving it. Didnt work either

Do you have any further suggestions? Is it a hardwar defect? It is printing just fine except this annoying behaivor.

Below is a picture of the page it keeps printing

Greetings!

Welcome to the HP Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, the printer keeps printing the "Information Page" ever now and then.

Don't worry, I'm here to help!

Let's try disabling the bi-directional support option -

1) Click the Windows icon, and then click Devices and Printers.
2) Right-click the HP printer, and then click Properties.
3) Click the Ports tab.
4) Make sure that the Enable bidirectional support checkbox is unchecked. If it is checked, click the checkbox, click Apply, and then click OK.

If the issue still persists, try the steps mentioned below -

Step 1 HP Print and Scan Doctor -

Click on this link to download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor.

Step 2 Re-install the printer drivers -

1) In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program".
2) Look for HP Printer software.
3) Right-click to uninstall.
4) In the search box, type and open “Devices and printers”.
5) In the Devices and Printers, look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose “Delete” or “Remove Device”.
6) Open the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”).
8) Click on the "Drivers" tab.
9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click “Remove” at the bottom.
10) Select Ok.
11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows.
12) Close Devices and Printers Once the software and drivers are removed.
13) Restart the computer.
14) Download and install the software and drivers from here.

Step 3 Firmware Update -

Click on this link to download and update the printer's firmware.

Let me know how that goes.

Hello again!

Excellent. That might have solved the issue. So far there has been no more printouts of these papers. I'll mark it as solved for now. Thanks a lot!
