HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fn
Microsoft Windows XP (64-bit)

Hi

One of the weirdest: my LaserJet was connected until now through Ethernet cable

I moved it and tried to set a wireless connection

That requires, as part of the setup, to connect the USB 2.0 cord to the laptop

I turned the printer and there is no connector jammed to the board – only a hole!!

I attached a photo of that (and also a photo of how it should look like, I took it from another printer I use)

Any idea what I can do? The printer is not under warranty anymore

Thanks!

And generally the M127fn do not offer any wireless connection, the specific model offers a direct USB or ethernet connection only, be aware that fixing the USB port in any repair shop will allow connecting it with a USB to a computer, not wirelessly so please consider that as well and don't expect any repair to allow any wifi functionality..

I have replaced a few USB ports on the boards before. It might be that the USB got damaged before and was removed from the board, but it can also be that the board is damaged on that connection and therefore not replaced.Any repair shop should be able to assist you.Hope this will help.

The USB port will be part of the formatter which would need to be replaced since most repair shops will not have the capability to put a new connector on a board.

Checked the specs on your machine and the FN does not have wireless capability the FW would be the model that you could connect wirelessly.
