HP laser printer 1102 w
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

HELP please I am desperate. Hi everyone,   I know this has already been asked but there has been many different solutions posted.  I am a teacher that was thrown into remote learning. I needed a printer so I brought the one home from my classroom. I have an HP laser printer 1102w that was set up with a USB cord. ( no WiFi) We also were not given any users Manuels since it was purchased and set up through the school. I didn’t even know this had a WiFi connection or a scanner until I started looking here. My issue is when I try to print I get the error I need to login with the administrator password to continue printing.  My school has been closed for three weeks now  and all I want is to be able to print using the USB cord not the WiFi. Is there a quick fix so I can continue my online teaching without having to buy another printer ASAP?   I’m nervous to do a factory reset not knowing what I am doing. Thank you to whoever can walk me through this.  Stay healthy everyone

@Brown-ie

Hello,

In order to solve this issue, please restore the product to the factory-default settings as follows:

NOTE: This procedure does not reset page counts, service IDs, or other static product values.
  1. Turn the product off.
  2. Turn the product on, and while it is initializing press and hold the Cancel button () and Wireless button () at the same time for about 10 to 15 seconds (all of the LEDs will blink in unison until the buttons are released).

I remain at your disposal in case of need.

Best regards,:Wink:

Hi Manns,  Thank you very much for replying to my message. Unfortunately that did not solve the problem.  I have all the IP

adressess now all set on 0.0.0.    Do I now need to install something else.  When i  want to print I get the message that

Microsoft doesn't recognize the printer therefor show the password.  I also now get an error message when I plug the USB port in that it doesn't recognize the disk and wants me to eject it when there is nothing there.  I printed the configuration page though.

Is there something else I should be doing by any chance? Do I need to set up the computer again.  Again, I can't thank you enough for reaching out and helping me.
