HP Laserjet P1102w
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Hi, I just changed the cartridge in my laserjet P1102w printer. None of the lights are flashing, the ready light is on but nothing prints. I do not get any error messages or blinking lights, on my Mac it inidcates that the printing is complete but the printer has not done anything (no noises or movement at all).

I have tried to reset the printer, have deleted the printer and reloaded it on to the computer (using a USB connection) and still nothing. Anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Hey there! @Tasneem_E, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand you have issue printing using a USB connection on your MAC PC.

Don't worry I'll to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Are you able to make a copy from your printer?

Have you tried printing from a different application?

I appriciate your efforts for trying out the steps before reaching out to us.

Splendid analysis and remarkable patience shown. It is immensely appreciated.

Try updating the MAC and printer firmware to the latest version and check if it helps.

Update the printer firmware using this link. Click Here

  • Restart the printer and the computer: Restarting the computer and the printer can clear possible error conditions.

  • Reconnect the cable: Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable from the printer and the computer.

  • Connect to a different USB port: Connect the cable to a different USB port on the computer.

  • Disconnect from a USB hub or docking station: If you are using a USB hub or docking station, try connecting the cable directly to the computer.

  • Try a different USB cable: Use a different USB cable. HP supports USB cables less than 3 m (9 ft 10 in) in length.

  • Disconnect other USB devices: If you have several USB-connected devices, such as another printer, the computer might not have sufficient power supplied to the USB ports to detect all of them. Disconnect any other USB devices that are not in use.

Also, try the steps recommended below.

1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

Example of the Printers & Scanners window

2.) If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.

3.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.

4.) Confirm AirPrint displayed in the Use or Print Using menu, and then click Add.

Select AirPrint from the Use menu

5.) Open a document or photo, click File, and then click Print.

Let me know if this helps!
Have a pleasant day ahead! 🙂
