My new printer quit printing and I followed directions to get it going again, I even purchased a new cartridge as instructed and installed it to no avail. Amazon tech suggested I wipe the software clean clean and reinstall it again which I did but It still did not not help. He thought it might be defective and should return it but before I go thru that hassell I wonder if anyone has any suggestions?

is the printer hooked up via USB, wireless, or with an ethernet cable?

USB, a windows update might have messed up your USB drivers and print driver relationship- reinstall driver.

wireless, a router or switch reset may have caused the IP address of the printer to change, making your print driver settings incorrect and you need to change the IP address of the printer back to what it was before, or add a new IP port to the driver with the current printer IP address

windows 10 can uninstall your TCP IP port in the printer driver and add its own WSD port instead. Right click on the print driver, select printer properties, check the ports tab to see what your printer driver is using currently

also you will want to disable DCHPv6 and IPv6 (and probably disable "windows discovery WSD ports) in the network configuration section of your printers control panel

You are very welcome. If your new printer has problems connecting via USB, most likely your USB drivers in windows are having a problem.

Here is a nice article on messing with the USB port drivers within windows provided by one of the Guru's

as you can see, it's fairly technical. so if it's too complex, it may be easier to get a simple desktop switch and hook your new device up via a ethernet connection.

Best of luck!
