Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Printer was previously giving a 49.FF05 - ERROR - Turn off then on

After doing a cold reset, it now boots through to the 6/6 and freezes while the green (Ready) light is lit.

I have tried powering off and back on, removing data cable, unplugging printer etc.

Any help would be grateful.

Thanks!

This appears to be an issue with the NVram according to tech documents I can find.  You need to perform an Nvram reset, then a cold reset and then install the latest firmware. The NVRAM reset procedure is basically the same as cold reset but you hold the 9 key.

I have performed the Nvram reset and cold reset - can you point me to the process of updating the firmware?

I'm guessing I will have to do it through USB from laptop?

Thanks!

Go to support.HP.com and search for your model and then go to firmware updates. There will be a resume file that provides detailed instructions.
