My wireless printer worked fine for three years. Now, however, it will not detect my WiFi network.

I have tried the obvious: Unplugging the printer. Resetting the router. I reset to default settings. I tried entering the name of the network directly but it could not be found. Wireless direct is off.

Please help!

I am answering the questions posed to me last time. Unfortunately, the topic was locked.

What's the make and model of your WiFi router? Cisco Residential Gateway

Do you have SSID broadcast disabled on your WiFi router? No

Do you have a guest network enabled on your WiFi router? No

Approximately how far is the printer located from the WiFi router? 30 feet. But the problem is not fixed when I bring the printer right next to the router and plug it in. It simply can't detect the WiFi network

Are you able to connect other devices to your home WiFi? Yes. Our cell phones and computers work fine. However, a guest recently was not able to see our network in his list of available networks on his

Could you also check for any WiFi interference? N/a

As I said, the printer detected the WiFi network with no problems for several years. We have made no changes to our WiFi since then. But now the printer no longer detects the network

Restore network settings to default settings.

1. Press the Wireless button to access the Wireless Status menu.

2. Press the button next to Settings to access the Wireless Settings menu.

3. Select Restore Defaults.

4. Confirm selection to restore defaults.

Then, try to connect the printer to the network.

1. Press the Wireless button from the printer control panel, and then select Settings.

2. Scroll to select Wireless Setup Wizard, and then press OK.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the wireless connection.

4. Insert the printer software CD in the computer CD-ROM drive.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer software.

Keep me posted, how it goes!

Have a great day!

Cheers:)

I restored the wireless default settings. However, my network still is not showing up under the "select network (SSID)" menu. IT is only detecting my neighbor's networks. Still having no problems getting my phone and other devices to find and connect to the network.

I also tried manually entering the network's name (case sensitive) and it says: "Network not found."

What shouid I do next?

Was the printer working fine before?

If you are using a wireless router, check your router's documentation or support site to make sure it meets the following requirements:

Check the router band: Many routers can operate in both 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz frequency bands, but not all HP printers support both bands. Make sure the 2.4 GHz router band is enabled and broadcasting. If the router broadcasts separate network names (SSIDs) for each band, connect the printer to the 2.4 GHz band SSID.

Now try connecting the printer to the network.

Keep me posted, how it goes!

Have a great day!

Cheers:)
