HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M182nw
macOS 15.0 Sequoia

My new laser jet pro will not wake up from sleep. I never had this problem with my old Laser Jet,  I have to constantly turn the new on off and on.  Can I disable the sleep function?  Or any suggestions about how to get it to wake up.

@Mickie8, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M182nw is not waking up from sleep mode, there are several steps you can take to resolve the issue:

Check Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up-to-date. You can check for updates by visiting the HP Customer Support website, entering your printer model, and downloading the latest firmware available.

Printer Settings:

  • Access the printer's control panel and navigate to the Setup menu.
  • Look for Energy Settings or Sleep Mode settings.
  • You may be able to adjust settings like sleep time or disable sleep mode, if necessary.

Network Connections:

  • Ensure that the printer is correctly connected to your network or USB connection.
  • Check that the IP address or the USB cable connection is stable, as interruptions can prevent the printer from waking up correctly.

Reset the Printer:

  • Sometimes a simple reset can resolve the issue. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Reinstall Printer Software:

  • Uninstall the current printer software and drivers from your computer.
  • Visit the HP support website to download and install the latest version of the software and drivers for your printer model.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
