Trying to print out my wedding invitations. The colour scheme is teal and gold. We had printed out tests and all was good. Went to print them out today and the colour print out instead of the teal that I can clearly see on my screen, it is printing it out in blue. I have tried the following:

  • changing the paper quality to the card weight
  • colour matching with the printer rather than the software
  • converting the pages document to a PDF
  • cleaned the printer heards
  • checked ink levels and all are above 80%

The whole point of buying this printer was to do the invitations ourselves.

A warm welcome to HP Community!

Power resetting the printer, performing an automated cleaning and adjusting the print settings may resolve the issue. Let's try these steps:

1) Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector

2) Remove all of the toner cartridges from the printer and close the door

3) Remove the power cord from the back of the printer (Do no press the power button)

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer

5) Wait for the printer to turn on completely, then install the toner cartridges.

6) From the Home screen on the printer control panel, swipe left, and then touch Setup.

7) Touch Service, and then touch Cleaning Page.

😎 Load plain, white paper when you are prompted.

9) Touch OK to begin the cleaning process.

10) Open a document, click File, and then click Print.

The Print window opens.

11) Click the Unnamed print options menu, select the Paper Type/Quality or Media & Quality menu.

12) Depending on your print job, you might consider modifying the following settings:

Paper type: Select the appropriate type of paper

Quality: Increase the print quality from Normal to Best.

13) Click Print.

Let me know how it goes!

So you won't actually believe this but...it turns out the issue was nothing to do with my printer.

It was all to do with the lights.

I printed them out at night and the light bulbs made it appear blue. In the natural light in the morning they were teal.

Thank you for your suggestions to fix. Should it happen and not be a light issue I will try this.

I do believe its possible, I've seen ambient lights causing a slight variation in color.

You are welcome! Sure, if you come across any print quality issues, you may try those steps and feel free to reach out to us if you need further help.

Have a great day!
