The printer hasn't be used for a long time and print comes out very light even after I replaced with a new HP cartridge (the cartridge was in the stock room for about 4 years). The printer setting was already set to the most darkness it can be. Is it because of the age of the new cartridge? I don't want to buy another cartridge and find out that the problem is the printer itself. Can someone help? Thanks ahead.

There are more than a few possible causes of your printer printing light, and one of them could be a toner.
Press and hold Go button on your printer for a printer to start LED blinking, that should make the printer to print a demo page, scan ( or take a photo ) of that printed page and post here so we can see the result. You have a small camera icon for inserting images.

It's hard to say where the problem is.
It can be the 1300 itself or it can be the toner cartridges. If it's the 1300 then it's the power/engine board which seats at the bottom most side where you plug the power cable into.
As to a four year old toner cartridge then i'll blame it first and it almost always is. And i think it should be aged more than four years. HP Q2613A/Q2613X are hard to be found for many years.
