I am using an HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw printer. Recently, I have been facing a serious issue with the print quality. Whenever I print, the colors appear faded and the overall print quality is very poor, making the documents unusable.

Kindly arrange for a service check/solution at the earliest.

If you're experiencing faded colors and poor print quality on your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw, here are steps to troubleshoot and improve the print output:

  1. Check Paper Type and Print Settings:

    • Ensure you are using the right type of paper for LaserJet printers.
    • Check if the paper is not wrinkled or of poor quality.
    • Adjust the print settings in your application to make sure they're optimal for printing (for instance, check if the quality setting is set to "Best" in print preferences).
  2. Calibrate the Printer:

    • From the printer control panel, access the setup menu and navigate to "Printer Maintenance."
    • Select "Color Calibration" to align the colors properly. This process can help resolve issues with color accuracy.
  3. Replace or Re-install Toner Cartridges:

    • Check the toner levels using the HP Smart App or the printer control panel.
    • Use only genuine HP toner cartridges, as non-genuine products can cause print quality issues.
    • Open the toner access door, remove, and then reinstall the cartridges to ensure they are seated properly.
  4. Clean the Printer:

    • Print a cleaning page from the printer to remove any excess toner or debris that may be affecting print quality.
    • From the printer's control panel, go to "Setup," then "Service," and select "Cleaning Page."
  5. Print a Print Quality Page:

    • This function helps diagnose which toner cartridge might be causing the issue.
    • From the control panel, go to "Reports" and select "Print Quality Report."
  6. Check for Firmware Updates:

    • Ensure the printer's firmware is up-to-date by checking for updates on the HP website or via HP.

Please share an update after trying these steps so we can assist you further, if required.
