Hi,

I was reading another topic about this (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/Smudges-down-the-side-of-each-print/td-p/6505248).

My question is, the general consensus was the fuser is at fault, is it possible to just replace the fuser film or does the entire fuser have to be replaced ?

Thanks

This is caused by a failed fuser film. You may be able to find a kit, replacing can be a little troublesome. Also ensure that the dc controller firmware code is 15100 or you may have another failure in short order. How old is the printer and what is the page count? I have had some clients successfully argue for repair/replacement under good will warranty with HP.

Hi,

Thanks for the prompt reply, the device is just over the 3 year mark, September 09, 2016 was when the base warranty started.

Page count stands at

Total Impressions: 69220

Monochrome Impressions: 29934

Color Impressions: 39286

I can find the film easy enough just wanted to see if that's likely to resolve.

Thanks
