Printing smudges on paper

While printing documents there are smudges all over the output, it seems like it is coming from a roller of some sorts but I beleive the ink cartridge comes with a new roller. IS there another roller I need to clean, this printer is used quite a bit. When I trouble shoot it says to use the automated cleaning tool but the directions are vague and I cannot figure out how to get that.

Run a half test. Put a sheet of paper on the manual fold down tray in front and do a self test. When the backedge of the paper enters the printer, quickley open the toner door to stop printing. Remove the toner and look at the image below, If the defect is present the toner cartridge is the problem. If the defect is not there then the fuser has issues and will need to be replaced.
