Having problem with duplex printing with iphone from HP Laser Jet Pro M404dw.  Used to be able to do double sided printing from iphone but since a month ago, the option is no longer there.  I can do duplex printing from my office jet snd iphone.  I also can do duplex printing from my Imac and to both my laser jet and office jet.  So the problem is not with the computer.  So, Im thinking that the driver for the laser jet pro needs updating.  On HP driver page, I cannot find a driver for my Laser Jet Pro M404dw.  So, why?  If not available what can I do?  Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi @TerryAnneS,

I understand your LaserJet Pro M404dw isn’t showing the duplex (double-sided) option when printing from your iPhone. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Confirm the printer and iPhone are on the same Wi-Fi network
AirPrint requires both devices to be on the same network and subnet.
If the printer is on Ethernet and the phone is on Wi-Fi, ensure both go through the same router.

Check if duplex printing is enabled on the printer
On the printer’s IP page (Embedded Web Server), navigate to Printer Settings or Printing Preferences.
Make sure “Two-Sided Printing” or “Duplex” is set to On.

Restart the printer and the iPhone
Power both devices off and back on.
This refreshes AirPrint visibility and often restores missing print options.

Update the printer’s firmware
Outdated firmware may prevent AirPrint from showing duplex options.
Use the printer’s Embedded Web Server or HP Easy Admin to check for updates.

Try printing from another iPhone app
Some apps hide advanced print settings.
Test printing a PDF or webpage from Safari, Mail, or Files to see if duplex appears.

Test from another iOS device if available
If another iPhone or iPad shows the duplex option, the issue may be linked to the original device’s print menu settings.

Reset network settings on the printer (optional step)
On the printer’s control panel, run a Network Reset.
Reconnect it to Wi-Fi and try printing again from the iPhone.

If needed, print using a Mac/Windows device as a workaround
Desktop drivers always show duplex options even when AirPrint does not.
This can be used temporarily until the AirPrint settings refresh.

I hope this helps.
