Problem with sleep mode on my printer MFP M278-M281

Hi everyone, 

I have a problem with my printer. As soon as i turn off my computer, my printer  goes to sleep mode, and after a few seconds turns on. As long as the computer is off, it keeps going on. As soon as i turn on the computer, my printer  goes to sleep mode after the normal delay (60 sec), and then stay in this mode.

Is there a bug or something ?

I connected my printer through the USB port

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the  "sleep mode" issue. 

We can try changing the sleep mode setting.

Go to system setup-->energy settings--->sleep mode and select the appropriate option for you.

This works only when my computer is on.

The problem is that the problem  occurs when i turn off the computer : then, my printer begin to turn off and on continuously.

Any other Idea ?😁

How is the printer connected to the computer?

The printer is connected with USB.

Could we connect the printer to the network and disconnect the USB?

Refer to the steps in the document -Changing from a USB to a Wireless Connection

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
