I have an HP Pavilion dv6-6135dx laptop with Windows 7 and this is in regards to my printer which is an HP Laserjet P1606dn. I print using the USB cord but I also notice when I installed it, it said you could also print over a network? Do I still have the option to do both even though I installed it with the USB cord printing option?
Does that mean that this type of printer is wireless? If not, then what does printing over a network mean and why does my printer say "eprint" on the top of it?
Lastly, can this printer print in color? If so, how do I do that? Because I've always just printed in black and white, never knowing if I could or not. I don't think I've ever been given the option to print in color, only black and white. I opened the printer and the current cartridge I have in it says HP Laserjet Printer Cartridge 78A and then CE278A. I would love to possibly have the option of printing in both black/white AND color. It also looks like there is only room for one cartridge in it, so I'm not even sure if multiple ones can be put in or if only one can go in?
Thanks.

Yes, you can print over both the USB and network. You can setup your printer driver on your computer for Sharing, which means you can print from any other computer on the network through your computer connected to the printer with the USB cable once you setup the other computers to your Shared printer. You can also connect your printer to your network with an ethernet network cable directly to your network. Your printer is not wireless, but if your network has wireless capability, then you can print using your wireless network.
ePrint means you can send an email to your printer once it is setup for it and print from anywhere. Here's a couple of links to help explain:

https://store.hp.com/us/en/tech-takes/what-is-hp-eprint
Your printer is a Monochrome printer, which means it can only print in Black & White. It cannot do color. It only takes one cartridge - black.

Thank you for your response! But I'm still not understanding what you mean by a "network" and line confused me that said:
"You can setup your printer driver on your computer for Sharing, which means you can print from any other computer on the network through your computer connected to the printer with the USB cable once you setup the other computers to your Shared printer. "
So this isn't a wireless printer? Because you seemed to say that you can print without the USB cord if you are part of the network so wouldn't that mean it's wireless? Just confused on the difference between wireless and a network and how you are explaining "eprint" and what it means?
Thanks, sorry for the questions.

OK, so I've found a couple of sites that can help explain what a "network" is better than I can here. Here's the links:
https://www.tutorialspoint.com/computer_fundamentals/computer_networking.htm
https://www.computerhope.com/jargon/n/network.htm
Here's a couple of links that can help setup "sharing" your printer on a network:
https://www.groovypost.com/howto/share-printer-windows-10/
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4089224/windows-10-share-network-printer
As for the ePrint, it means that if your computer is connected to the internet, you can send a print from most anywhere in the world to your printer. Please use the links I provided in a previous post for better understanding.
Your printer is not a "wireless" printer because it does not have built-in wireless capability. You can possibly print to it from a wireless device as long as your computer is wireless or it is connected to a network that has wireless capability and your printer is "shared" through setup on your computer to the rest of the network.
A network is typically created when you have a modem and/or router that your computers and internet are connected to, typically using what is called an "ethernet" cable that helps them all talk to each other.
I understand that this can be very overwhelming to understand. I wish I could explain it more simply, but you're trying to cover many different aspects of printing and your printer all at once.
