I am trying to set up my printer for the first time and I am getting the error message: Rear Door Open. I read through this forum and I've tried to find where the door latches and engage the sensor manually. I am sticking in a piece of folded paper, I hear a click and the error message then changes to Jam in Print Paper Path, Open Rear Door and Clear Jam. I've also tried a hard reset.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

The problem appears to be that the parts inside are misaligned. The printer needs more help than i can give it.

i will try and assist. Thanks for trying all the other steps. With the door open look on the path where the paper should pass. There are some flag type sensors that detects the paper as the paper passes through the machine. These are normally spring loaded and should be in a closed position. Then i would also remove the drumunit and make sure that there is no paper or a piece of paper stuck somewhere.Lastly on the fuser unit on both sides there is flaps's as the paper exits the machine make sure that they are freely moving up and down.Retry the machine and see.

As this is the first time this printer is setup, I have not been able to print yet and there is no paper jam.

Maybe I should have mentioned, when I remove the paper from the sensor the door error returns and the paper jam error is gone.

I've tried to move various parts in the back of the printer. There is a green cartridge (not sure what it is) that appears to be stuck and only one side will move when I pull it. Everything else look normal.

Thanks for your help
