Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, I sure hope someone can help me.

I'm working on my desktop PC with Window 11 installed.

I was in the middle of printing a color PDF flyer, when it stopped printing in color.

I cancelled the print job and printed a test page and supplies report, both of which showed plenty of color ink left.

I tried printing other types of document -- word or a photo-- and still no color.

I uninstalled and reinstalled my printer and still no color.

So now, thinking supplies reports must be wrong, I order new LaserJet cartidges.

Install new cartridges, but still no color when printing (wasted of money!)

Finally thought to send the same flyer to the printer from my laptop, and bingo, it prints just fine.

I've gone through all the settings in the print dialog box (file/ print) and also checked the properties in printers & scanners. Nowhere can I find a box accidentally checked "greyscale".

It's weird because the flyer was printing fine for a few copies and then just stopped.

And prints fine when sent from different computer.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I had a similar issue. I've fixed this twice. Once I went into "Device manager" uninstalled the drivers reinstalled HP Smart and readded the printer

This time I went to:

1. Type "printer" in the search bar and go to "Printers & Scanners"

2.  Click <Your Printer> in the right window

3. Click "Printer Properties"

4. Click the "Advanced" tab and there is a "driver" dropdown.

If that driver is "HP Universal" it's not going to print color.

Mine had a driver in the dropdown specifically for my printer that I had installed earlier.

I clicked that driver and then clicked "Apply"

I'm not sure why, but at least in my case it has decided to change the driver to one that apparently doesn't support color. Hope that's a similar situation for you as it's a fairly easy fix.
