I've installed the  printer on my computer but don't remember how I found the icons that were on the dock that controlled the printer. Any assistance would be appreciated.

@Terry15401, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP Laser Inkjet.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

If you have previously installed a printer on your computer and are trying to locate the printer control icons that might have been on your dock, here are some steps you can follow to access and manage your printer settings and icons:

  1. Window's Taskbar or Start Menu:
  2. Click on the Windows Start menu or search bar and type "Devices and Printers" or simply "Printers."
  3. Select "Devices and Printers" from the list of results.
  4. Here, you will find all the printers installed on your computer. Right-click on your printer's icon for more options.

  5. Printer Software:

  6. If you have installed specific printer software from HP, it usually includes a setup utility that places an icon on the desktop or the taskbar.
  7. You can find this by checking under All Programs (accessible from the Start Menu) or searching for it by the printer model name.

  8. System Preferences (For Mac Users):

  9. Click on the Apple menu and choose "System Preferences."
  10. Click on "Printers & Scanners."
  11. Select your printer from the list to view and manage settings.

  12. Dock or Desktop Shortcuts:

  13. Check if there are any icons related to your printer on the desktop or dock.
  14. You can also drag your frequently used printer control applications from Finder or Windows Explorer to the dock or taskbar for easier access.

  15. HP Smart App:

  16. If you have the HP Smart App installed, you can access controls and settings for your printer directly through this app.
  17. Look for the HP Smart icon either in the taskbar area or within your applications list.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!
