Need to clean or replace small Black sponge Toner Transfer Roller that sits behind the toner cartridge. All of the product manuals and Chat support indicate "never touch the black sponge transfer roller.  doing so can damage the machine".  Well, I can see the exact pattern of the black lines that the roller is making on every printed page and also the black lines will appear on blank pages. It is obvious because the line pattern is very unique, it is a horizontal pattern of a peculiar nature. The machine had previously been cleaned because of a defective toner cartridge that leaked toner badly.  It was removed and the machine was gently cleaned.  This remaining toner transfer pattern is showing that excess toner is being picked up (in addition to text) and deposits heavily at top of page then becomes faint and disappears by the bottom of the page.  What is going on and is there a way to clean or replace this roller - even if HP says essentially nothing about how to do either solution.  Of course they would like to sell me another printer!

Hello
Based on the problem description, it seems that the toner cartridge has leaked powder, contaminating the transfer roller (also known as the sponge roller mentioned earlier).
It is recommended to clean the inside of the printer first (it is recommended to use a static-free vacuum cleaner), and then replace the original toner cartridge.
As the printing volume accumulates, the problem will gradually be resolved.
Thank you
