Hi, I want to know if it's possible to replace the printer drum for this model? I think the current drum was damaged from inferior toner (non-HP) cartridges and I want to replace it. If it is replaceable, what would be the part number for the drum? Thank you!

Install the new cartridges, the printer will run a cleaning cycle. It sounds like the aftermarket cartridges you bought may have been straight refills, the problem here is that if the waste toner section of the cartridge is not drained then toner gets dumped back onto the page when the waste bin is full. It should clear up on it's own once the bad magenta is replaced.

The drums on this unit are all in each cartridge. When you replace a cartridge you get a new drum. What sort of defect are you getting, vs you post a sample?

Thanks! When I print there are light magenta smudges on the pages. I was afraid to replace the cartridge without cleaning the printer first with a new drum. So you're saying all I need to do is get a new set of HP toner cartridges and I should be ok? 🙂
