You don't need to use service pin to access the preboot menu.

Do you have any error code with HDD or any issue with printer?

Does first M880 works with that HDD without any errors?

Have you inserted HDD in 2dn M880 to see what happens?

Hi TOR22,

If you want to put the HDD from one printer to another, then you will have to unlock it first.

Put the HDD to the new printer and let it boot. It won't. You will get an error and enter the pre-boot menu.

You then have to go to Administrator -> Manage Disk -> Boot Device -> Erase/Unlock. After that, go back and select Download -> USB Thumbdrive in order to install the latest firmware you have stored in a USB flash disk and which must be inserted in the front usb port. After it is comleted, select Continue and let it boot.

I hope this may help you,

Cheers!
