Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm using an HP OfficeJet 9012 printer and had set the admin user and password but forgot it. So I reset to factory defaults and tried admin/admin for credentials but it didn't work.

Is there a solution for a hard reset or disable the admin security?

Hi,

Try restoring the factory defaults of your printer by following the To restore the printer to the original factory defaults section on page 184 of its user guide:

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06220009

Now, reconnect the printer to your network and check for any difference, for a wireless connection follow Connect a printer with a touchscreen control panel below, for a wired network connection you shouldn't take any further step:

I would have never thought of looking under maintenance. Perfect solution took two minutes after wasted hours reading manual.

EXCELLENT!!
