Hi @Jo87328,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it is when your HP printer disconnects even after restarting the service. This usually happens due to network lease issues, printer sleep mode, or firmware bugs. Let’s fix it so the connection stays stable:

1. Assign a Static IP

  • On the printer:
Setup → Network Settings → Advanced Settings → IP Settings → Manual
  • Choose an IP outside your router’s DHCP range (e.g., 192.168.1.250).
  • Save and restart the printer.

2. Disable Auto Power Off & Sleep

  • On the printer:
Setup → Preferences → Auto Power Off → Off
  • Set Sleep Mode to a longer duration or disable it if possible.

3. Update Printer Firmware

4. Router Settings

  • Enable DHCP Reservation for the printer’s MAC address.
  • Disable AP Isolation or Client Isolation if using access points.

5. HP Smart App

  • Remove the printer from HP Smart and re-add it using the new static IP.
  • Ensure Local Network Access is enabled in your phone’s settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
