Hi  @RWCCC,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand your concern on how it can feel when your HP LaserJet Pro is able to print normally but will not scan, don’t worry let me check and help you with this.

Could you kindly confirm the below details :

  • Are you trying to scan from the printer control panel or from the HP scanning software/app on your computer?
  • Do you receive any error messages when attempting to scan? If yes, what is the exact message?
  • Is the printer connected via USB, Ethernet, or Wi-Fi?
  • Did scanning work previously and then suddenly stop ?

In the meantime, kindly try the below steps and confirm :

  1. Check the printer connection
    • Ensure the printer shows as online and connected to the same network as your computer (if using Wi-Fi).
  2. Run HP App (Windows)
    • This tool can automatically identify and fix common scanning issues.
  3. Update or reinstall the printer software
    • Download and install the latest full-feature software package for the M130fw from HP Support - https://support.hp.com/ .
  4. Use Windows Scan or HP App
    • Try scanning with another application to determine whether the issue is software-related.

You can also refer to the link  for HP printers - Scanner not found or connected (Windows, macOS) - Click here

I hope this helps.
