Samsung Xpress M2830DW
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Every time I try to print on this printer, it stops and says Offline. I am running both Windows 10 Creator's Update on my SP3 and Mac OSX Yosemite on my Apple. Neither works. The USB connection from the SP3 DOES work, but I can't get wifi connection from either of them. There's a firmware update, but there's no .exe file to run it.

??????? I can't contact HP support without an HP product number. How do I get support? Does anyone know how to update the firmware? Keep the wifi connection going?

THX

If you downloaded the firmware from HP, there was probably a Release Notes document embedded in the zip file. In the release notes there are instructions on how to update the firmware (and it might also be in the User Giide). The instructions seem a bit generic, but you should be able to figure it out. Here's the link in case you need to download the firmware again.

Since you said that you can connect via USB, here are the instructions for going that route. There is also a procedure for updating firmware via SWS.

1. If there is a .prn file, drag and drop it over the usblist2.exe file.

2. Drag and drop the .hd (or .hds) file over the usblist2.exe file.

That should do it. Sometimes it doesn't take on the first try, be patient.

I'm not that familiar with your model but most models work the same way.

The latest firmware does fix a wifi security issue, so maybe it will help. If you get the firmware loaded and still have wifi problems, you might want to open a separate case in the Samsung forum. Not all HP techs are Samsung techs.

Good luck!
