ColorLaserJet Pro MFP M278-M281
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I need to determine how to scan documents of both sides.

I can not find any reference for this LaserJet and have been told

by help sites it is not possible.  I can not believe HP would release

a color laser jet for business without that capabities.

I had an HP inkjet printer which had that capability.

in fact, even though I no longer have the inkjet, an old computer still has

the software.  it seems I can link the old computer to the new colorLaserJet

and the double sided scanning works.

The old software recognizes the LaserJet and I can scan from the Laserjet.

Perform root level uninstalltion to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.

  • Restart the PC again.

Download and Run full feature driver for the printer
