HP Laserjet Pro MFP M227fdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just replaced a brother printer with an HP Laserjet Pro MFP M227fdw.  With the brother printer I could load paper in the document feeder and from the printer screen select scan, select the computer I wanted to scan the files to and press Scan.  The scanned file would automatically save to a default folder on the computer.  Can this be done with the HP printer?  It seems I have to interact with the computer to get it to scan and save.

You can scan to email ( receive the scanned document as an attachment in an email from the printer) or scan to a network folder (the scanned document is saved on a folder on your network).

Detailed instructions and how to set up can be found in the User manual from page 71.

As @Valsimot suggests, you can setup Scan to Network folder. This will require some initial setup but once done it makes it quick and easy to scan to either a configured computer or server.
