Hello to all, our all-in-one MFP M277dw is 5 years old now, very little domestic use but suddenly this week decided to do a calibration after which the Scanner Error 17 message appeared. We did a full reset and that seemed to fix it but then repeated it's calibration and the Scanner Error 17 message reappeared. We repeated the reset several times and ended up with Error Codes 13, 17 and 23 appearing at various times. The printer works OK but no scanner or copier. Checked on the internet and found that Error Code 17 means that the scanner needs to be replaced/repaired, found the part C5F98-60112 on HP Parts at a cost of £160.50 plus VAT plus fitting costs so not far short of the cost of a new printer! Does anyone know of a simpler fix for now to use up the £300 recently spent on new cartridges? Note that the new version of this printer MFP M283 uses different cartridges at horrendous cost despite looking exactly the same as the MFP M277! Hence 'Frustrated-SO30'!

For the 13 code, I would need the rest of the numbers after the 13 to see what it's referencing to, as there are many sub-numbers for differen. As for the 17, that is a scanner issue, which could be the flex cable to the scanner is going bad (maybe replace just the cable) or the internal motor/belt/guides are bad, which would mean the scanner base assy. would need to be replaced.
