I'm having an issue with a printer at a site where they are trying to scan documents via the adf and the scanner bed and they are getting an error saying that the scanner has lost connectivity to the computer. I understand they have reinstalled the software (not sure if its updated software mind you) but it seems to me that its either a networking issue or a software issue. I am just asking the community their thoughts on this but it seems to be more of the software then it would be a hardware issue to me. Thank you to those that have input on this.

After checking the printer out, it was due to out of date software and firmware from the user's IT department (use of the initial cd software) so after updating the software it works like a charm.

I agree with your assessment of a software issue. Perhaps some windows updates or changes to virus/firewall settings are creating a conflict. Have then try the Microsoft scanner application as I have found that often works when nothing else does.
