Secure File Erase Mode

I recently upgraded the firmware on a printer, however, when I try to push through a template via Jetadmin, I get a warning and the template fails.

This behavior is expected after certain firmware updates on HP LaserJet Managed MFP E52645dn, and it’s related to how Secure File Erase Mode is handled.

How to fix it (recommended solutions)

✅ Option 1: Remove Secure File Erase from the template (BEST FIX)

Open HP Web Jetadmin

Go to:

Device Management → Configuration → Templates

Edit the template you are pushing

Locate:

Secure File Erase

Disk Erase

Data Overwrite

Set it to:

Not configured or Disabled

Save the template

Re-deploy the template to the printer

👉 This resolves the error in most environments.
