Error code 55.0602 need help

Hello,  The topic says 49, but you have the 55.0602 code in the body.  The 2 are really different codes.  The 49 generally relates to communication, whether internal or external input.  The 55.06.02 means the NVRAM may be fried.  There is a smaller internal circuit board (not the formatter where the network cable plugs in).  Check the connections on that board.  Just make sure a cable didn't pop out.  Chances are they didn't.  You most likely have a bad NVRAM chip on that board.  It's called the DC Controller.   On these smaller units the NVRAM is part of the board.  The M281 is a fairly new model.  Check to see if it is under warranty.  If not, decide if you can replace the board yourself or need a tech.  HP's Tech Support can give you the part number.  You can buy it from them or on a website.  Maybe even find a used one from a machine that had another issue.
