Hi,

I am trying to setup a network folder for the scanned items to go into.

SO I go into the HP Utility app, go to Network Settings, then to Other Settings, click on the Additional Network Settings button and get a webpage with all the settings.

I go into the Scan to Network Folder tab, create a new Network Configuration. Here's where I get lost.

I have a Public Folder with a folder in it called HP Scan where I want things to be copied into. Screen Shot 2016-03-07 at 12.42.20.jpg

For the user name and password, I am using my Mac's admin account username and password. On my old Mac, this worked, but not so for my new Mac.

Any idea what I should do?

Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

I understand that you are facing the issue in setting up the scan to network folder.

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps on your own?

Create a folder and right click it (CTRL+ Left click) and select Get Info, check the box next to Share folder.

Under the permissions section ensure your user account has read and write permissions.

From System Preferences select Sharing, ensure that File sharing is enabled and click the Edit / Options button.

Ensure the SMB option is checked and the user is listed and selected, add the user if required.

Then, try to setup scan to network folder.

Let me know how it goes, keep me posted I'll be glad to help you.

Have a great day!

Cheers:)

Right clicking and making it as a public folder in info has worked, thank you very much!
