Hi @Driverdave,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It can happen with HP Instant Ink or HP All-In Plan / HP+ enrolled printers when the printer cannot validate its status with HP services.

What to check

  • Make sure the printer is connected to the Internet.
Enrolled printers require an active internet connection for Web Services/HP services. If the printer stays offline too long, printing can stop until the connection is restored.

  • Check your HP account for alerts.

    Look for banner messages about:

    • account problems

    • connection errors

    • payment issues

    • suspended service

  • If applicable, update billing/payment info.

HP notes that messages like Check your Account, Account Problem, Payment Problem, or printer plan suspended can require updating your payment method.

  • If you canceled the subscription/service, printing may stop:

    • HP Instant Ink: Instant Ink cartridges only work in enrolled printers; after the billing cycle ends, you must install regular cartridges.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
