HP Laserjet P1606dn
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

The HP Laserjet P1100/P1560/P1600 software will not install.  I have used the DVD and the software downloaded from HP site.  I had to reinstall Windows 10 Pro OS.  All previous interations of the printer software and drivers have been removed.  There may be another ticket but the tech’s email account is full so i cannot reply and therefore the ticket was closed.

Hi,

Try launching the installation manually from the extracted path below:

C:\LJP1100_P1560_P1600_Full_Solution\HpSetup.exe

Can you install the software by usign below file instead the default one?

I did see that you wouldn't be able to launch the standard setup file with the printer on the latest 1803 update (exact behavior as you describe)

Please try

(a) Download and save the following software on your computer (remember where)

       https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL32431/bi-80329-11/hp_LJP1100_P1560_P1600_Full_Solution-...

(b) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,

Follow on screen instructions.

Regards.

This did not work.  The exe file link is the same install file I downloaded from the HP software web site.  I had already tried the the install with “Run As Administrator”.  I did the install as administrator with the new file.  The files are extracted but that is as far as it gets.  The installation does not start.

NOTE:  did the Microsoft spring update 1803 have a negative affect on any of your printers?  It seems that 1803 update obsoleted most of  my PC.

This worked perfectly.  Thank you very much.  I wonder how much more this Microsoft update (1803) broke?
