All of a sudden I got a “supply memory error” on my display and can not print.  I get the error for every color.  I tried resetting the machine many times..  No luck.  I called HP and they said the circuit board that is reading the computer chip on each cartridge is bad.  I bought a new machine, installed my toner cartridges and get the same error.
there is plenty of ink left in the cartridges and have used them for about 8 months.  They are not official HP brand but bought off Amazon and have worked well.

is there a date code stamp that renders them useless after some time?
What is the fix besides spending $400 on new HP cartridges?

thx

There is not a date code per say, however, HP printers will check the chips on cartridges and stop ones that violate Intellectual Property or trademarks from working. This is a never ending battle as third party companies are continually releasing products that attempt to skirt legal requirements.

Is there a way to circumvent HP’s visibility into my machine and turn back the settings?
