Stomping and yelling sometimes works as a means to get attention.

 

Not receiving the help you need is frustrating.

 

If you wish to do so, you can ask for help here in the HP Community.

 

If your intent is only to voice your opinion, that part is done.

 

What if ...

 

If you are referring to the "HP App" that is replacing HP Smart, then - true -- the "HP App" is very different.

 

I believe the intent is that the HP App be a "one stop shop" for printers, computers, and accessories (all things not printers and computers).

 

At least at present, the "One Stop" does appear mostly directed at your supported HP Printer and the features that were part of HP Smart.   

 

The HP Smart menu bits are still available - instead of a single "Smart" menu with point-and-click tiles and features, the HP App presents the content in a scroll up and down format to find what you want.

 

The following is not meant to change your mind about how you feel -- 

The video is a fairly good introduction and might at least clarify some of what the application is intended to do for us.

 Expand the area that describes the application – Read the first sentences and click “More

 Print, Scan, Fax, Save – Minute 1:15

 Select “Use AI Search” – Minute 2:08

 EWS (Embedded Web Server) – Minute 2:21 > Printer Settings > View all > Advanced (opens EWS)

 

 Reminders

  • If asked enter the printer’s PIN number – The default PIN might be located on the back or inside the printer (ink access area).

 And

  • “Advanced” / EWS can also be opened using your Browser:   Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Thanks for your response. I can not even access the app anymore, because when I go to log in, the app states it has sent a 6-digit verification code to my email on file, and for over an hour I have not received any verification codes, despite checking my primary inbox, spam, and junk. I have also re-requested the code 4 times and have not received any code. I am sure the app is great if only HP would actually email the verification code.  HP has done nothing to help solve the issue. I am stuck at a login screen, unable to access my app because no verification codes are coming to my email.
