HP Laserjet P1102W
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Downloaded hp_LJP1100_P1560_P1600_Full_Solution-v20120831-50157036_SMO.exe from HP. (link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-laserjet-pro-p1102-printer-series/4110...). After unpacking it and attempting to install the software I am presented with a dialogue that takes over the screen and gives me only the option to cancel. "This app has been blocked for your protection". When looking at the digital signature of sisetup.exe I see "a certificate was explicitly revoked by its issuer."

I am an administrator on this machine. I tried disabling parts of Windows Defender, but I cannot get beyond this screen.

What to do/try? Thank you.

Welcome to HP Support Community

Let's try giving the file permissions

  1. Navigate to the file or program that's being blocked
  2. Right-click the file.
  3. Click Properties.

    Right-click the file. Click Properties.

  4. Click the checkbox next to Unblock so that a checkmark appears.
  5. Click Apply.

Click the checkbox next to Unblock. Click Apply.

Also disable Windows Defender completely

Try downloading the File once again and let me know how it goes

Have a wonderful day 😊

  1. Launch Windows Defender Security Center from your Start menu, desktop, or taskbar.
  2. Click the App and browser control button on the left side of the window.
  3. Click Off in the Check apps and files section.

Click the App and browser control button. Click Off.

  4. Click Off in the SmartScreen for Microsoft Edge section.
  5. Click Off in the SmartScreen for Windows Store apps section.

There is no "unblock" option available to me. This includes the downloaded package and also the executable once the package has been "installed".  I have also tried disabling Windows Defender as you outlined and that made no difference.

I talked to a tech yesterday Case# 5027709572 and she got the printer to work via remote control - sorta. I need to be able to define a print task quick set and am now getting the message "This feature is not available because you do not have permission to save system settings on this computer." I am an administrator and am using an administrator account.

If you look at "settings/devices/printers and scanners" you see the printer but it says "driver is unavailable". If you go into Word or any other app, you can specify the printer and print something, but I really need the print task quick set.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

Thank you 😊
