Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (x64)

LaserJet Pro 200  Color (M251nw)

driver version 61.117.1.15301

firmware version 20150212

I disabled "There is a warning (Example: Toner Cartridge Low)" by unchecking the checkbox.  Enabled is "The device cannot print (Example: Paper jam, Toner Cartridge Empty)".  I am still getting warning alerts for Toner Cartridge Low for my black cartridge, but it says I still have about 200 pages of toner left.  I have another black toner cartridge, which I will install when I get an error alert that the installed black cartridge is empty.

How do I stop those annoying warning alerts?  Why does not unchecking the checkbox for them still allow the alerts to popup?

Greetings @DERoss

Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are looking to over-ride the Toner low alert on your printer, is that right?

Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.

Found this article on HP website where you can change the settings to very low instead of low.

This will allow you to print until it is very low on ink.

  1. On the printer control panel's Home screen, touch Setup ().

  2. Touch System Setup.

  3. Touch Supply Settings.

  4. Touch Black Cartridge or Color Cartridges.

  5. Touch Very Low Setting.

  6. Select one of the following options:

    • Continue: Select this option to set the printer to alert you that the print cartridge is very low, but to continue printing.

    • Prompt: Select this option to set the printer to stop printing and prompt you to replace the print cartridge. Either acknowledge the prompt and continue printing or choose to be prompted in 100 pages, 200 pages, 300 pages, 400 pages or never.

         NOTE:

The default prompt option is set at 100 pages. This option is provided as a customer convenience and is not an indication these pages will have acceptable print quality. You can enable or disable the default setting at any time, and you do not have to re-enable it when you install a new print cartridge.

    • Print Black: On the Color Cartridges menu, select Print Black to alert you when the print cartridge is very low, but to continue printing in black only.

  7. After selecting your settings, attempt the print job again.

Let me know if this helped.

Hello, @ATTILA-m203dw

Thanks for reaching out! I'm here to help 🙂

Try to access the printer EWS page. Here are the steps:

a. First, obtain the IP address of the printer by printing a configuration page.

b. Press and hold the Resume button until the Ready light begins blinking.

c. Release the Resume button.

d. Open a web browser, and in the address line, type the IP address or hostname exactly as it displays on the printer configuration page. Press the Enter key on the computer keyboard. The EWS opens.

e. Go to System tab - Supply Settings: Change the settings for Cartridge is low alerts and other supplies information.

f.  Save the setting and exit the EWS page.

That should help. Let me know!

Cheers 🙂
