I bought a HP LaserJet 1020 Plus Printer last week, it worked well for 3 days and suddenly printing operation stopped working. I diagonised the problem through windows troubshooting, it stated that USB printing support can't work properly with USB 3.0 and this is not fixed.
What should I do now to fix the problem???

Greetings @Prabhakaran_SM,
Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.
I understand that your printer is not responding.
Not to worry, I will be glad to help.
Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.
Have you tried using a different USB cable? All HP printer will work on USB 3.0 ports as well.
Recommend you connect the printer to a different USB port on the computer and try to print.
If the issue persists, run HP Print and Scan doctor to automatically detect and fix the issue with the settings if any. Click here.
Let me know how it goes.

Hi Chimney_83 -- looks like you are an HP employee. If so, it is regrettable that you are giving out incorrect information. All HP printers are NOT compatible with USB 3.0.
On the contrary, older HP printers designed for USB 2.0 very often do not work with USB 3.0 ports, as many other posts have noted. Moreover, there is no work around that HP has provided -- to the amazement of many of us.
The only "solutions" that I have seen posted are: a) buy a new printer; b) if you have a network printer, connect via an ethernet cable. In short, these aren't solutions.
I would be delighted if you or HP could provide a solution. I've spent over 10 hours on this problem over the last year with multiple computer experts from the Geek Squad to my former company's IT department to my university's IT group. No one has a workable answer.
I have an HP LaserJet 2055dn and I am highly confident that it is not compatible and will not work with USB 3.0.
Thoughts welcome.

I'm a little late to the discussion but has this been fixed? I have a new HP Pavilion laptop so my husband gave me his HP Color LaserJet 3600n. It's a great printer in great shape. I printed a test page and it prints beautifully! I cannot connect it to my laptop though because it tells me it won't work with USB3.0. I have a VERY hard time believing HP just expects us to accept that we now have a very large, very expensive paperweight if we need to connect via USB. I'm very frustrated. Help?!
