Product: Product Laserjet 4200 Product # Q2425A
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Upgraded desktop machine that has windows 7 and 10 USB ports. My Hp laserjet 4200 only has a prallel port.

 

What cable do  iI eed to purchase so it will communcate with my new machine? 

 

Help.. and thanks !

I did test few USB-Parallel cables and the bad news: successful rate was around 20% depending on which printer. The following cable works with 50% rate

 

    https://www.jaycar.com.au/usb-to-parallel-bi-directional-cable/p/XC4847

 

That means it does not work for all printers. I threw them away when moving to Windows 10.

Use a hp jetdirect 615n / 610n will be more reliable and faster.
