Thanks in Advance.
I bought a new HP Color Laser Jet Pro M254dw printer and installed it in my Desktop PC (Windows 7 - 64). Everything went fine and even I printed a Word Document. But now I found that other than Word or Excel files the printer is not printing. Just an error message "Unable to Communicate with Printer" appears for a flash of second and disappears.
Even I tried everything like uninstalling the driver, removing all HP related folders, and even tried with re installing windwos 7 but no use. The problem appears again. Want to know whether the printer has issues. Please help me. Thanks again.

Thank you once again all. I found the cause of the problem. It seems the 'windows OS' I had is the problem. Now I installed new version of Windows 7. It seems working well. More over I love this printer for its quality and its perfectness.
Thank You All Once again

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
I have gone through your Post and I'll try my best to help
I appreciate all your efforts and expertise in troubleshooting this issue
Let's start with a Printer Reset
(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed
Then uninstall the Printer driver from Root level and download the Full Feature Software
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Restart the computer and download the Full Feature Software and the Firmware from Here and follow the onscreen Instructions
Keep me posted how it goes 👍
Thank you and have a Wonderful day 😊

Thank you for your guidence. I followed each and every step you suggested. But it seems that there is the same problem after installing the full downloaded software. That is I can print documents from MS Word, Excel but cannot with Pdf and jpeg files. Please note that if I opt to print a word(.doc) file with text and image, the printer does'nt print, but if I remove the image in the same word(.doc) file and command to print the same text, it prints well.
One more to say is that I downloaded the HP Smart Print Plugin for android to my Samsung Galxy Note 8. With that plug in I can print all the files (pdf, doc, xls, jpeg) without any problem. But it takes a lot of time to transfer the file and has limited options only unlike the PC versions.
Will Restoring the full factory image of the printer help me? If so please guide me to reset the Printer to Factory Image.
Please suggest me any other way to come out from this error because I love this Printer very much for its options and Print quality.
If you need further details about my PC, I will update it with you.
Thank You.

Hi I would like to assist to the best of my ability to solve your problem.I hope the information i supply will be of help.
I would just make sure of all the setting under the printer driver.Paper size ,type and printing in text.If you can print using other features with no problem it will most likely be a setting only.Hope this will help.
