Hi,

 

My printer didn't print via computer.

I configure the printer (LAN, etc.), I can access it through his webserver, I can print his configuration via the printer menu, but I am unable to print via a computer (even the test page). The printer's engine begin to run, but nothing prints. In the event log, there are many :
42.B0.01 Missing String ID : en-US : cReportedProblemsLog

Firmware : 2304061_439462

The 42 error is a localization string issue with the EWS, which shouldn't be related to the computer not being able to send the print job to the device.  Getting answers to some of the follow questions will help:

 

1. What language is the computer set to?  This is to understand the 42 error, not the printing issue.

2. Are you using the discrete software, Universal print driver or something else? What version?

3. Are you connected to the computer through a network cable or USB?

2. I was using the latest specific driver for Windows 2008 R2 64 bits (but right now I am using the HP Universal Printing PCL 6 ver. 61.175.1.18849 and with this driver, it works)

3. The printer is connected through the computer with a network cable

We will look into the French localization testing to see if we can reproduce the 42 error.

 

As for the printing issue:

 

Our testing has been positive with this OS and the discrete driver.  It's possible that something got corrupted.  Please try:

 

1. uninstall the driver

2. clear the print queue

3. Re-install the driver using the installer, preferrably from the CD.

We are having this issue on a 602 and have done the following. We have other pcs printing fine to the printer. it wont print from windows.

 

1. uninstall the driver

2. clear the print queue

3. Re-install the driver using the installer,

 

it will work for the day and go back to not working the next day.  There is no update that is happening at night.

any ideas?
